Power BI app Improvement and new complete SSAS Tabular project and Data Insights Development

Goal

  • The planning teams of the North American entity of the Client (a multinational corporation) have additional and advanced business analytics requirements to implement on an existing Power BI application.
  • they have multiple old Data dashboards to rebuild entirely from Data processing and preparation with an SSAS tabular project to the development of several Data insights on Report Builder.

Result

  • Delivery of an updated and improved Power BI app by optimizing and modifying existing elements (Power Query data treatment, data Model, Dashboard charts, etc.), and adding several advanced Data Processing and Data insights.
  • Delivery of a complete SSAS Tabular Project that process and prepare all the needed Data for Business Analytics requirements.
  • Delivery of several rich data insights on Report Builder.

Details

  • Continuous collaboration with the Planning business team lead during the entire project. 
  • Study in detail the existing Power BI app, and the new business analytics requirements to add to the Power BI app.
  • Agile Project Management: continuous weekly multiple meetings, incremental deliveries of developed Power BI app and its validation with the Planning business team, until its complete validation and its deployment on the production server to users.
  •  Advanced KPIs and metrics calculations with DAX expressions.
  • Study in detail the multiple old Data dashboards that will be rebuilt entirely, and the needed Data format to load and analyze in the new to build Dashboard graphs.
  • Development of a complete SSAS tabular project that process and prepare all the needed Data to load and analyze in Final to rebuild dashboards.
  • Advanced data processing and treatment with Power Query and M language.
  • Development simultaneously of the multiple new dashboard graphs(KPIs, Combined Charts, Line Charts, etc.) of the already processed and prepared Data by the SSAS Tabular project.
  • Training the internal IT team on the administration and troubleshooting of the delivered SSAS Tabular project and the SSRS Dashboard graphs. 
  • Redaction of the functional and technical documentation of the delivered BI project.
