QlikView apps complete Upgrade to Include all the data of the acquired Multinational Retail Company

Goal

  • After the acquisition of a multinational retail company, the constituted multinational retail group launched a project of consolidation of its different business analytics and data reporting platforms.
  • All the group’s business analytics platforms will migrate to QlikView platform which actually analyzes just a part of the group’s activities (plus 100 QlikView applications, plus 1000 users, Large Data Sets with dozens of millions of data raw for some QlikView applications, etc.).
  • The group needs help from a BI Project Manager expert on both the business analysis side and technical implementation side, that can take responsibility for upgrading some of the most actual complicated QlikView apps and building a new QlikView apps that assembles and analyze all the data of the group, with a collaboration with the business referents team, and IT teams.

Result

  • Delivery of several new upgraded QlikView apps on procurement, invoices, Sales, Stocks, etc., that load all the group’s Data and allow business teams to analyze all the activities of the group on the same QlikView application.
  • Harmonizing the Data analytics ecosystem of the group.
  • Implementation of the data security plan for all business analytics dashboards users (Business teams, sales, commercial teams, etc.), with attributing the right data to the rights users.

  • Continuous collaboration in agile mode (Throw continuous weekly meetings and workshops) with business referents team and IT teams during the entire project.
  • Study in detail the existing QlikView BI ecosystem (the multiple data preparation level, the multiple layers of QlikView applications architecture, the details of the QlikView app data processing script, and the QlikView app Dashboards and reports).
  • Study in detail the other data reporting platforms’ technical context, and the availability of target data to load and analyze on the new upgraded ‘group version’ QlikView app.
  • Design, development, and implementation of the first level ‘Layer 1’ QlikView apps (QlikView applications for data processing and preparation, and generating multiples QlikView data tables files ‘.Qvd’ and the QlikView data model structure).
  • Design, development, and implementation of the new final upgraded ‘Layer 2’ QlikView apps (which contains Data, Data visualization, and security).
  • Testing of the delivered QlikView application by the business referents team, and giving their feedback.
  • Modifying, updating, and delivering new updated QlikView application until its complete validation.
  • Deployment of the first completely validated QlikView application on the production environment to allow different users to start analyzing data.
  • Incremental update of deployed QlikView app Throw Incremental deliveries, validation, and deployment of a new version to allow users the continuous analysis of business activities.
